In October, the ‘soirée des binômes' launched the 2017 promotion of the ‘Jeunes Ambassadeurs’. In Grenoble, 23 international students along with their professional coaches are about to live a new year full of encounters, events and projects to be carried out.

The 'Jeunes Ambassadeurs' program, for a better international visibility of the ComUE UGA

Since 2009 in Grenoble, the ‘Jeunes Ambassadeurs’ program aims at promoting international activities within the Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes region and its main university towns, through the mentoring of a young international student by an institutional or professional decision-maker.

Based on the principle of reciprocity, the 'Jeunes Ambassadeurs' program lasts 7 months (from October to April) during which time the students will:

  • Form a pair with their "business coach" ;
  • Attend lots of events : company visits, cultural excursions, international conferences and forums, festivities;
  • Take part in the Award program (Trophéeson the theme of a business, cultural or institutional link between their home town/region and their university town in France.

In exchange for benefiting from this hosting program, upon their return to their home country, the ‘Jeunes Ambassadeurs’ agree to communicate on the expertise of the companies, encourage contacts between all members of the network, and thus facilitate international partnerships..

Coming from all over the world (Sweden, Côte d’Ivoire, Viet Nam, Mexico…) and from different academic backgrounds (Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Physics, Communication and Management…), 23 international students or PhD students hosted by the Comue UGA were selected to take part in the 2017 ‘Jeunes Ambassadeurs’ program..

Joining the 'ja4ever' network to facilitate international partnerships

Since its creation in 1999, the ‘Jeunes Ambassadeurs’ program involved :

  • 2200 students from over 90 countries;
  • 860 professional coaches in Auvergne – Rhône-Alpes, having mentored 1 or several students ;
  • 22 universities and partner schools in Lyon, Saint-Étienne, Chambéry, Clermont-Ferrand and Grenoble.

All stay connected through the 'ja4ever' network!

To make the experience last longer and continue beyond the timeframe of the program, students will all be part of the ja4ever network.

They will thus be able to stay in close contact with all of the different members (fellow ‘Jeunes Ambassadeurs’, coaches or schools), facilitate contacts between the network and their home country, and thus promote international partnerships with the Auvergne – Rhône-Alpes region.
